Dr. Desai’s practice focuses on working with children, adolescents, and adults in the clinical setting. He provides his patients with medication management, along with individual and family-based therapeutic interventions.
Broadly speaking, Dr. Desai’s practice includes diagnosis, assessment and treatment for several conditions such as mood, anxiety, thought, developmental, and externalizing disorders. Specific areas of interest include management of ADHD, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, autism, and sleep disorders. Dr. Desai is a preferred provider on most local, regional, and national insurance panels, including but not limited to Quartz, Dean, WPS, UMR/Alliance and WEA. He also sees individuals and families on a self-pay basis.
Dr. Desai is a native of northern Illinois and a graduate of the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. Dr. Desai completed his general psychiatry and child and adolescent fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Psychiatry, in 2009. He is board certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. In addition to his work at MPA, Dr. Desai also works weekends at the Meriter Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Hospital and provides treatment, consultation, and case supervision services for other private practices in the local area.
